Bishop Hill Fine Arts
"Where Memories Are Made"
A Labor of Love -
Upon the passing of Sherry Linscott's
brother Michael John Looney, the
idea of making a difference through
art in a variety of forms was begun.
Both Sherry and her husband Chuck
wanted to not only grant Michael's
request, of "sharing my art with
others", but to also promote the
Swedish village of Bishop Hill, Illinois
that Michael photographed and drew
so often.
Meet Our Artists &
Crafters -
In September 2006, Bishop Hill
Fine Arts opened featuring the art
of 5 artists & crafters and in a
matter of a few shorts months has
grown to embrace the artwork of
36 & counting, artists and crafters.
Upcoming Events &
Demonstrations -
During festivals and special
village events you will find one or
more of our artists providing
demonstrations of their craft.
Conveniently located beside the
Post Office (same building/side by
side) and directly across from the
park.
Bishop Hill Original Carpentry & Carriage Shop -
now houses Bishop Hill Fine Art. Outside shot of our shop is
shown about, but make sure and stop in to see the "old style
look" print of our building, created by the late artist Michael
John Looney, one of his many prints that can be purchased in
our shop. Michael John Looney was also well-known for his
Railroad Art.
